  • How are holiday homes and lodges made?

Swift's Holiday Home and S-Pod range is built to BS EN 1647, meeting NCC Structural Thermal Rating standards. Our Lodge range meets BS 3632 standards, ensuring enhanced insulation and energy efficiency. Both feature heat-reflecting Thermaglas double glazing, robust construction, and durable materials for long-lasting performance.

  • Can you get a mortgage on a holiday home?

Holiday homes are typically financed through specialist loans rather than traditional mortgages. Speak to a financial advisor or park representative to explore your options.

  • Do you pay council tax on a holiday home?

As long as the holiday home isn't being used as your main residence, you won't be liable to pay council tax on it. Holiday homes do not count as main residences most of the time and so are not classed as domestic property. This means they do not incur council tax, however there are other associated costs that you will need to consider.

  • Can you live permanently in a lodge?

You can live permanently in a lodge if your chosen park allows 12-month stays and holds a residential license. Confirm this before purchasing.

  • How do you buy a holiday home or lodge?

To buy a holiday home or lodge, first determine your needs and budget, then research parks and lodges that fit your criteria and visit potential parks. See our five steps to holiday ownership guide.

  • Can you rent out your lodge?

Renting out your lodge can provide a good income stream. Be sure to check your park's policies and understand any legal requirements.
